Define recipient roles when sending a document

For each recipient, you can assign one of the following six roles:

  • Signer – Signs the document to agree to its terms.
  • Approver – Reviews and approves the document.
  • Receives Copy – Gets a copy of the document but takes no action. If placed after all signers, they will receive the fully signed document.
  • Witness – Acts as an intermediary; the signer must use their device (e.g., mobile, computer, tablet) to sign. Useful if the signer doesn’t have access to a smart device or if you want them to sign in your presence.
  • Forwarder – Can forward the document to the final signer. Useful when you don’t have the signer’s contact details.
  • Automatic Signature – Automatically applies a qualified signature to the document.
